Door-to-Door
Door-to-Door Shipping to Jamaica
Door-to-door shipping to Jamaica means Shore to Shore Shipping handles your shipment from origin in the United States through final delivery at the consignee's address in Jamaica — the most convenient option when the consignee cannot collect at our office. We ship barrels, boxes, containers, and air freight door-to-door through our Union, NJ office and our Kingston and Montego Bay offices. This page explains what door-to-door includes, how it works, and how it compares to office pickup.
What Door-to-Door Means
Door-to-door means we manage every leg of the shipment: getting the shipment from its US origin (our Union, NJ office, or a pickup you arrange with us), ocean or air transit to Jamaica, coordination of customs clearance, and last-mile delivery to the consignee's address in Jamaica. You do not have to coordinate multiple carriers or send the consignee to the port — we handle the through-journey.
What We Ship Door-to-Door
- Barrels — door-to-door delivery of personal goods and supplies.
- Boxes and packages — smaller door-to-door shipments.
- LCL and FCL containers — larger personal or commercial door-to-door cargo.
- Air freight — urgent or high-value door-to-door shipments.
- Relocation shipments — overseas moving handled end to end.
How Door-to-Door Shipping Works
- Arrange origin pickup with us, or drop the shipment at our Union, NJ office.
- We consolidate and ship it by ocean or air to Kingston or Montego Bay.
- Customs clearance is coordinated on arrival — the consignee still pays duties and taxes, and needs a TRN.
- Once released, our Jamaica office arranges last-mile delivery to the consignee's address.
- The shipment is delivered to the door.
Door-to-door is freight + delivery, not duties
Door-to-door covers getting the shipment to the consignee's address. Jamaica Customs duties and taxes are still paid by the consignee on arrival — they are not part of the door-to-door freight rate. See our customs duties guide for how duties work.
Door-to-Door vs Office Pickup
Office pickup (the consignee collects at our Kingston or Montego Bay office after clearance) costs less. Door-to-door adds last-mile delivery, so it costs more — but it is the right choice when the consignee cannot travel to the office, when the shipment is large, or when the destination is far from our offices. Choose based on convenience versus cost.
Coverage in Jamaica
Shipments arrive through Kingston and Montego Bay, where our offices coordinate clearance and last-mile delivery. From there we arrange onward delivery island-wide. Delivery to a rural address costs more than delivery near our offices, which is reflected in your quote.
