Once your shipment is in our system, you can follow it from drop-off to delivery using the Shore to Shore Shipping tracker. This guide shows you how to find your tracking number, which tracker to use, what each status update means, and when to reach out to us. Tracking works the same whether you shipped a barrel, a box, a container, or air freight — if it is in our Magaya system, it is trackable.
You need your tracking number
To track, you need the tracking or shipment number we issue when your shipment is booked. It is on your receipt or booking confirmation. If you cannot find it, contact us with your name and shipment details and we will look it up.
Find Your Tracking Number
Your tracking number is issued when your shipment is booked with Shore to Shore Shipping. Look for it on your receipt, your booking confirmation, or the email we sent when the shipment entered our system. If you ship through our Union, NJ office, ask for the tracking number at drop-off. If you cannot locate it, contact us with your name and the approximate shipment date and we will find it for you.
Use the STSS Tracker
Open our Track Order page and enter your tracking number in the Shipment Tracker. The tracker queries our Magaya cargo system and returns the current status of your shipment. You do not need an account — just your tracking number.
What Each Tracker Shows
- Shipment Tracker (worldwide) — the main tracker for any shipment by number, including barrels, boxes, and air freight.
- Shipment Tracker (Florida only) — a separate tracker for shipments routed through our Florida commercial operation.
- Live Tracker (commercial customers) — a real-time view for commercial accounts managing multiple active shipments.
Understanding Status Updates
Status updates move your shipment through a few standard stages. Knowing where you are in the sequence helps you tell normal progress from a hold that needs action.
- Booked / Received — your shipment is in our system and at our origin facility.
- In transit — your shipment is moving toward Jamaica (ocean or air).
- Arrived at port / destination — the shipment has reached Kingston or Montego Bay.
- Customs hold / pending clearance — Jamaica Customs is processing the shipment; the consignee may need to act (TRN, documents, duties).
- Released / Out for delivery — customs cleared and the shipment is ready for pickup or on its way to the consignee.
- Delivered — the shipment has reached the consignee.
Customs hold usually means consignee action
If the status shows a customs hold, the consignee typically needs to provide a TRN, correct paperwork, or pay duties. We can help identify what is needed — contact us if a hold seems stuck.
When to Contact Us
Contact us if the status has not changed for an unusually long time, if it shows a customs hold and you are not sure what action is needed, if you cannot find your tracking number, or if the shipment appears delivered but the consignee has not received it. Our team can look into the Magaya system directly and coordinate with our Jamaica offices to resolve it.
