From New York
Shipping to the Caribbean from New York
The New York metropolitan area is home to the largest Caribbean community in the United States, and our warehouse sits on the other side of the Hudson from it. For most of Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan, Union, New Jersey is a shorter trip than the far end of Long Island — which is the practical reason a great deal of New York barrel and box traffic consolidates with us rather than further afield.
Why New York Ships Through New Jersey
Cargo does not care about the state line. What matters is where the shipment consolidates and who handles it at the other end — and our warehouse in Union sits directly across from the boroughs, with our own offices receiving in Kingston and Montego Bay.
For a Brooklyn or Queens family sending barrels, that means one drive rather than a search for a local agent who will hand the cargo onward to someone else at the destination.
The Communities We Serve
The Caribbean presence across the boroughs is long-established and highly local. Flatbush, East Flatbush and Crown Heights in Brooklyn carry a large Jamaican population. Richmond Hill and the surrounding Queens neighbourhoods are a centre of Guyanese and Trinidadian life. The Bronx and northern Manhattan add to it. Those communities ship constantly, and they ship to specific places rather than to "the Caribbean" in general — which is why our destination pages are written island by island.
Getting Your Cargo to Us
- Bring it to our Union, New Jersey warehouse yourself — the common route for barrels and boxes.
- Ask about collection if driving it over is impractical.
- For commercial volumes, talk to us about arranging the inbound leg as part of the shipment.
We are a New Jersey operation
To be straight about it: our United States facility is in Union, New Jersey. We do not run a separate New York depot. What we offer New York shippers is proximity, plus our own offices at the Jamaica end rather than a handover to a third party.
